Transmisi Otomatis untuk Sepeda Listrik

TRANSMISI otomatis kini tidak
lagi didominasi oleh kendaraan bermotor. Sebuah perusahaan bernama
Fallbrook Technologies telah meluncurkan transmisi otomatis untuk
sepeda. Hal ini bermula ketika mereka meluncurkan sistem transmisi
sepeda jenis baru yang dinamai NuVinci Continuously Variable Planetary
(CVP) N170 pada 2007 lalu. 

Tidak seperti pada transmisi
sepeda pada umumnya yang menganut sistem gigi derailleur, transmisi sistem gigi planet ini
terinstalasi pada bagian hub roda belakang sepeda yang disekat agar kotaran, debu dan bahan
pencemar lainnya tidak bisa masuk.

Sistem transmisi gigi
planet ini menawarkan kemampuan mengubah rasio gigi, meskipun saat
sepeda tidak dijalankan. Sistem ini terus dikembangkan hingga pada
tahun lalu Fallbrook Technologies memperkenalkan model NuVinci N360.

Transmisi baru ini lebih kecil dang ringan dibanding model
N170 ditambah dengan penyajian rentang rasio yang lebih lebar. Dari
NuVinci N360 kemudian dikembangkan dan lahirlah transmisi baru yang
lebih canggih yang baru dirilis tahun ini yaitu NNuVinci Harmony.

NuVinci Harmony merupakan transmisi versi otomatis dari N360
yang dikembangkan secara khusus pada e-bike (sepeda listrik) yang
menggunakan sistem tegangan 12-48 volt. Transmisi ini secara otomatis
mengatur rasio untuk menjaga irama yang disukai oleh pengayuhnya.

Jika Anda mendaki sebuah bukit, transmisi akan bergeser ke
rasio yang lebih rendah sehingga tidak ada kesulitan lagi untuk
mengayuh pedal, layaknya seperti saat di jalan datar.

Sistem
transmisi ini memiliki dua pengontrol yang terpasang di setang kemudi.
Base Controller memungkinkan pengendara memilih tiga kecepatan irama
yang terjaga secara otomatis dengan menekan sebuah tombol.

Pada dasarnya ini sudah menjadi setingan pabrik yang pada
dasarnya hanya terdiri dari tiga irama pilihan yang terdiri dari
pilihan cepat, sedang atau lambat. Sedangkan pada pengontrol kedua
yaitu Advance Controller, para pengguna dapat menemukan irama yang
tepat yang benar-benar mereka sukai dan memerintahkan sistem untuk
menjaganya.

Jika para pengendara menginginkan, mereka bisa
mengganti mode transmisi ini menjadi mode manual dan memilih rasio
yang mereka inginkan. Ini serupa dengan transmisi otomatis pada mobil
generasi terkini yang memiliki juga mode manual.

Perangkat
yang dikemas dalam bentuk hub roda belakang ini sendiri memiliki bobot 250 gram, dan memiliki
sistem quick-release attachment agar mudah melepas pasang roda dan
NuVinci Harmony CVP mulai digunakan pada e-bike di awal tahun depan
dengan banderol harga mulai 2.000 Euro (sekitar Rp23,832 juta).

Minister asks Bima regent to scrap permit

Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik said on Friday he had requested West Nusa Tenggara administration to scrap the mining permit of PT Sumber Mineral Nusantara (SMN) after two people died last week during an anti-mining protest.

Jero said the province’s governor would order Bima regent, Ferry Zulkarnain, to revoke the permit, which was first issued in 2008 to explore gold in the regency.

“The mining law grants the right to the regent to issue the permit, but it doesn’t mean that the natural resources are for his own interest,” said Jero, who is a senior politician in President Susilo Bambang Yu-dhoyono’s Democratic Party.

“Before issuing a permit, a regent should discuss it first with his people. Without such approval, the regent should not go ahead,” he said.

Bima regency granted the permit under the business mining license (IUP) scheme, which gives regents full authority to grant such permits.

According to Jero, the central government could not directly revoke the permit because the minerals and coal law stipulated the regent’s authority in issuing and revoking permits.

“I hope that what happened in Bima will not happen again in other places in the future. I warn all regents to be wiser in issuing mining permits,” he said.

IUP permits remain problematic. The directorate general of minerals and coal at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry has estimated that around 60 percent of 9,662 IUP permit issued across the country have no “clean and clear” status.

The Indonesian Mining Association (IMA) has also expressed its support for the government in revoking problematic mining permits, including the one in Bima.

A decision to revoke the mining permit has raised concerns about legal uncertainty in doing business in Indonesia, where an operating license can easily be revoked despite the company having no direct involvement in a particular incident.

According to the Mineral Resources and Coal Law, a mining permit can be revoked if a company commits a crime, fails to realize its investment commitment or violates environment regulations.

Indonesian Resources Studies (Iress) chairman Marwan Batubara believed the Bima case would not create business uncertainty as the issue of the permit was already problematic in the first place.

 He said the core of the dispute was that the local administration and the company had not consulted with the people on the plan to operate a mine in the location, creating concerns it would trigger environmental damage.

Bima residents have protested against the mining operation over concerns about disruption to their farms and plantations, and last week’s protest ended in the fatal shooting of two protesters by the police at a close range.

SMN, a joint venture with Australia’s publicly listed ARC Exploration Ltd., is still in the exploration phase.

What is on your holiday wish list this year? Well, I stopped wishing a long time ago but here we go… I would like a View Master with photos of Disneyland during the late 70's early 80's. When I was a kid and I lived in Sinaloa, Mexico I had one and every time my uncle would get drunk he would send someone one to our house to borrow my View Master so he could look at photos of Disneyland… I never got that thing back. What is the best present you ever received? Gave? Why? The best present I ever received well..let's start with the worst $&@€|%# present I ever got. When I was I think twelve my brothers all got bikes and I got checkers and pajamas. I felt like I got the cheesy prize on the Showcase Showdown on the Price is Right. But the best present I ever got was my Felt Red Baron bicycle from my girlfriend Lesa last year.  The best present I ever gave was a laptop to my nephew Jose (JoJo) who I love and I hope whatever he chooses to do in life he is happy. Why? Because that's what cool uncles do and he has a lot of them. Any holiday traditions? My girlfriend Lesa and I have been going to the Laugh Factory in Hollywood on Thanksgiving and Christmas every year to help feed the homeless, and all the other comics perform a free show for them. Three shows on each holiday - it's a great feeling. Holiday plans this year? Stay home enjoy a vegan holiday meal… it will be different because my family can eat a whole cow - I've seen it with my own eyes. One Christmas at my Tia (aunt) Flora's house I'll never forget - that Christmas lasted two days. And, like any family at the holidays, the party's not over until somebody brings up the past… New Year’s resolution? My new years resolution is to write a book or better yet read a book - I'm joking I read a lot of tweets. But seriously, I plan on writing a book and working on my 2nd one-hour comedy special. My first one airs December 28th on Showtime at 10pm, but I have to keep moving forward! New Year’s Eve plans? My new years plan is to introduce my girlfriend to my wife… okay there will be a lot of role-playing followed by gambling then hot bath and then more role-playing… It’s New Years Eve; I am going to be somewhere yelling "WOOOOT WOOOT!!!" -

The best present I've ever received was probably the Fischer Price Tournament table back in the 90's.  It was a pool table/ping-pong table/air-hockey table all in one.  So basically a bad pool table, a tiny ping-pong table and a mediocre air-hockey table.  It was fun for about a week.  Our parents kept saying we weren't going to get it - so it was pretty cool when we went downstairs and it was sitting there all put together.   Best I've ever given: I once stopped at a WorldVision kiosk and got all these charity presents in my dad's/mom's/brothers'/sister's names - like "You have given a goat to a Somolian Family" or "You have immunized a village." Now these gifts are unfair to the recipients because they aren't allowed to be disappointed.....but it was definitely the best gift I've ever given.....I mean, I understand how you'd get it and think "Man....this is lame." but it's probably the most consistent with what's actually supposed to be the real "Christmas Spirit" whatever that is.... Any holiday traditions? We usually get a board-game then refuse to play it.  Then my mom says 'come on it's a tradition'. So we drink bit, then kinda play it, then don't.  Oh and we usually go to a movie during the day. New Year’s resolution? Stretch more - I've always wanted to do the splits.  Read more, write more, be less selfish - you know...all the stuff I'll never actually do 'more' of for 'more' than a week after New Years.   -

Any holiday traditions?  Yes!  My whole family wakes up super early Christmas day, we open presents, and then cook a massive southern breakfast.  Once we all have a nice big food baby of biscuits and gravy, we lay around, read, nap, and watch movies all day. Best day ever! New Year’s resolution? I'm always super busy and have a REALLY hard time disconnecting from work, the phone, emails, etc....so I'm going to start putting some down time in my schedule! Forced relaxation! New Year’s Eve plans?  I will be in Nashville for New Year's Eve - I spend a lot of time there recording with my band, and it is such a fun town.  I don't have specific plans yet, but it will more than likely involve some yummy food, live music and LOTS of red wine!!
